A friend and mentor said to me once that, “We are an accumulation of our life’s experiences.” During 2020, my experiences and relationships opened a door for me to start Archytas based on a set of values that love people and seek to unleash their creativity to do a new thing – to do things differently. Starting at Ernst & Young after graduating with two undergraduate degrees from Purdue, my career has included general management, sales, operations, and accounting roles serving companies in the consumer products and technology industries.
I live in Orange County with Angela, my wife. We have two sons – Patrick & Mitchell. We enjoy working our tiny urban farm and being involved in community building.
Favorite business quote. “If you have the opportunity to do amazing things in your life, I strongly encourage you to invite someone to join you.” by Simon Sinek
Why I love my work: I love being a part of Archytas because of the energy I receive from my teammates and customers when we are developing new solutions.
After graduating from MIT with a Mechanical Engineering degree and HBS with an MBA, I had one goal – to become the CEO of GM. After a successful 24 year career there – mostly in Operations, including vehicle assembly plant leadership, quality management and supply chain management – I left to become an entrepreneur. I’ve been a CEO or COO for many venture funded startups over the past 10 years. One highlight was participating in Techstars as a CEO. I’ve also served on several boards, including the International School of Indiana and the Indianapolis Airport Authority.
I live in Orange County with my Husband, Tom. We have two children – Kristine (who is a professional singer) and Bobby, who joined us in the business. We enjoy traveling, reading and playing volleyball.
Favorite Business Quote: “There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work and learning from failure.” by Colin Powell
Why I love my work: Archytas is the culmination of every failure and success in my career. I believe this is a company that can change peoples’ lives around the world and make them better while supporting the move to automation.
I am a 2018 graduate of Industrial Designer from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Most of my work was focused around modularity and creating solutions with parts or products people already have. After graduating I was fortunate enough to spend a year in China working with a school developing four phonics books for their classes, most of my work being illustrations and print management. It was an incredible experience and culture to get taste of, hopefully one I can experience more of later in life.
Outside of work I’m spending time with online friends or going on road trips across the US, and getting more in shape for some Socal beach volleyball!
Favorite business quote: “Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” Steve Jobs
Why I love my work: Working with Archytas has been creatively very opening, my coworkers share a mindset of looking for better ways or testing out ideas to see where/how they can be taken. It not only feels like we are getting goals accomplished, but also learning and enjoying the journey towards the goals.
A majority of my career has been spent in the educational sector, most recently teaching high school math and engineering. Prior to that, I coached college soccer with a brief stint of playing professionally in Brazil. With an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering and graduate degree in teaching, I have combined my passions through STEM education. I joined Archytas in April 2021 and will help develop solutions in our educational and business endeavors.
I live in the beautiful Boulder, Colorado where I enjoy snowboarding, running, cycling, hiking, and exploring. I’m an avid podcast-listener and enjoy spending quality time with people.
Favorite business quote: “Daring leadership is ultimately about serving other people, not ourselves. That’s why we choose courage. Courage is contagious.” Brené Brown, Dare to Lead
Why I love my work: I love being a part of Archytas because I am able to continue my pursuit of educating the next generation through the excitement of robotics and automation.
I am a Mechanical Engineer from Cal Poly Pomona with an entrepreneurship minor. I have always been fascinated by identifying problems and coming up with innovative solutions and chose engineering as a tool to better equip me as an entrepreneur, to better understand the world around me. I am Armenian and have a love for food which I balance with a love for physical activity. I also enjoy the arts from music to movies like Harry Potter.
Favorite Business quote: “If you can dream it, you can do it.” – Walt Disney
Why I love my work: I feel that Archytas emphasizes creativity and innovation in automation and has essentially combined my interest in problem solving, technology and business. I am excited to have a more overall understanding as well as a direct impact in making a difference while in Archytas, alongside an amazing group of people.
I am native to Uganda and I recently graduated from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania where I studied Mechanical Engineering. I have lived in three different countries: Uganda, Canada, and the United States. I am happy to have moved to Irvine, California and I can’t wait to explore SoCal starting with Disneyland!
I love to play sports in my free time, specifically basketball and soccer. However, I love other games like ping pong, spikeball, volleyball and even Uno!
Favorite business quote. “True success is reaching our potential without compromising our values” – Muhammed Ali.
Why I love my work. My professional interests are an intersection of industrial engineering and mechanical engineering. I love to develop products that solve the problems they are created to address but I also want to do so in a way that is manufacturable, cost effective and adds value to someone’s life.
